If dirt is visible, repeat the process until the contacts are clean.
Tip: Use a magnifying glass to ensure all dirt is removed.
Step 2
Test the Cartridge Fit:

If the red light is still flashing, proceed to the next step.
Warning: Avoid using excessive force when inserting the cartridge, as it may damage the pins.
Step 3
Try a Different Cartridge Position:
Insert the cartridge and press it down partially so it stays slightly raised.Turn on the NES.
This can sometimes bypass a poor connection.

Flip the NES over and remove the six screws on the bottom using a Phillips screwdriver.Carefully lift off the top cover.
Step 5
Remove the Cartridge Mechanism:
Unscrew and remove the metal shield that covers the cartridge slot (six screws).Unscrew the black plastic tray (six screws).
Keep track of the longer screws that go into the motherboard area.
