This is a mail-in battery replacement service for your own Game Boy cartridge. No game cartridge is included.
You are responsible for sending your cartridge to us using tracked postage. After checkout, you will receive an email with the send-in address, packaging guidance, and the details to include with your cartridge. Your cartridge will be returned to you using tracked postage, this is included in the service price.
Save backup and restoration will be attempted only where selected, supported and possible. Save preservation cannot be guaranteed. If the save has already been lost, corrupted or is unreadable, it may not be recoverable.
Turnaround time is usually 5-7 working days from the date your cartridge is received.

Is your Pokémon game no longer saving, or do you want to replace the original battery before it fails? This mail-in service is designed for classic Pokémon Game Boy cartridges that need a fresh internal save battery.
Many original Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges use an internal save battery. Over time, this battery can run dry, causing the game to lose save data or stop saving altogether.
This mail-in battery replacement service is suitable for classic Pokémon cartridges including Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold & Crystal.

Where selected and supported, we will attempt to back up your current game save before replacing the battery and restore it to your cartridge afterwards, provided the save is readable and recoverable.

Save Backup and Restore
For supported cartridges, we can attempt to back up your existing save file before replacing the battery. After the new battery has been installed, the save can then be restored to the cartridge where possible.
Please note that save preservation cannot be guaranteed. If the battery has already died, the save is corrupted, or the cartridge has other faults, the original save may not be recoverable.
We use suitable new 3V tabbed lithium save batteries matched to the cartridge during service. Most supported Pokémon Game Boy cartridges use a CR2025 tabbed battery, although some revisions may differ. For example, some European Pokémon Yellow cartridges use a CR1616 battery.

Battery replacement only - no save or clock preservation:
- Pokémon Gold
- Pokémon Silver
- Pokémon Crystal
Important for Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal: these cartridges use the internal battery for both save data and the real-time clock. This service is currently offered for Gold, Silver and Crystal as battery replacement only. Save backup, save restoration, clock backup and clock syncing are not included.
How It Works

- Send your cartridge to us using a tracked postage service.
- We replace the internal battery and attempt save backup/restore where selected and supported.
- Light cartridge clean where selected, including housing wipe-down, PCB inspection and contact cleaning.
- All cartridges are then tested and returned to your provided shipping address using tracked postage.

FAQ - Pokémon Cartridge Battery Replacement Service
Do you accept non-EUR or different-language cartridges?
Yes. We accept compatible non-EUR and different-language Pokémon cartridges, including USA and Japanese versions, provided the cartridge type is supported by the service. Battery type and board revision may vary, so each cartridge will be checked before replacement.
Do I need to use tracked postage?
Yes. Please send your cartridge to us using a tracked postal service. After checkout, we’ll email you the send-in address, packaging guidance, and the details to include with your cartridge.
Your cartridge will be returned to you using tracked postage, which is included in the service price.
What should I include in the parcel?
Please include the cartridge itself, your order number, your name, and confirmation of the address you would like the cartridge returned to. This helps us match your cartridge to your order and ensure it is sent back to the correct place.
Can you keep my current save?
For Red, Blue and Yellow, we can attempt save backup and restoration where selected. This is only possible if the save is readable and recoverable.
Do you preserve saves on Gold, Silver or Crystal?
Not currently. These games use the battery for both save data and the real-time clock, so they are offered as battery replacement only - no save or clock preservation.
When does turnaround start?
Turnaround starts from the date we receive your cartridge.
Is a cartridge included?
